About the LDP
The Linux Documentation Project is developing free, high quality documentation for the GNU/Linux operating system. This includes the creation of HOWTOs and Guides, and collaboration with other documentation groups.
If you've always wanted to help Linux reach Total World Domination(tm), but you're not a programmer, there's still something you can do. Help the LDP!
The LDP keeps a page of resources for authors at http://www.linuxdoc.org/authors/. Contributions are always welcome.

DocBook ProcessorOne of the most frustrating problems we deal with is the difficulty in installing and configuring the DocBook tools. So, we found a way to do an end run around them. We now have an email based service that will process your DocBook SGML files and give you back the html via http.
Once we get through a beta period and this service has proved to be stable and reliable, we are going to offer it to the other documentation projects as well. Please write to David Merrill at david -AT- lupercalia.net for more information.
OMF SupportGreg Ferguson of the LDP has put together a script that generates OMF (Opensource Metadata Framework) xml files directly from DocBook sources. We are making this script available to any other documentation group that would find it useful.
